Chronic neck pain, stiffness, or tingling down your arm? Cervical spondylosis is highly treatable with physiotherapy — our specialists help you recover fully without long-term medication.
Cervical spondylosis is age-related wear and tear of the discs and bones in the cervical spine (neck). It is extremely common — affecting over 85% of people above the age of 60 — but is increasingly seen in younger adults due to prolonged screen use and poor sitting posture.
Symptoms range from neck pain and stiffness to radiating arm pain, numbness, and weakness — and in severe cases, coordination or balance problems. At Phrapy, our physiotherapists are trained in accurately assessing cervical spondylosis and designing treatments that address both the pain and the underlying spinal changes.
Physiotherapy is the first-line recommended treatment for cervical spondylosis. Most patients avoid the need for surgery or long-term pain medications with consistent physiotherapy.

I had a 20-day physiotherapy session, and the results were excellent. On the first day, I couldn't sit comfortably for even an hour due to severe discomfort. Under ma'am's guidance and treatment, I can now sit comfortably for 5–6 hours with much better stamina. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone facing similar issues.
Consulting Dr. Sushmita turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. She took the time to thoroughly understand my condition and accurately identified the root cause of my pain. Thanks to her guidance, my back pain has reduced considerably and my posture has improved.

Cervical spondylosis is the medical term for age-related degeneration (wear and tear) of the vertebrae and discs in the cervical spine (neck). It causes narrowing of the spinal canal or foramina, which can irritate nerve roots or the spinal cord, causing neck pain, stiffness, and arm symptoms.
Cervical spondylosis involves structural changes in the spine that cannot be reversed. However, physiotherapy can significantly reduce pain, restore normal movement, strengthen the neck muscles, and prevent progression — allowing most patients to live pain-free without surgery or long-term medication.
Common symptoms include chronic neck pain and stiffness, reduced range of motion, headaches at the base of the skull, pain radiating from the neck into the shoulder or arm, numbness or tingling in the fingers, and in more severe cases, weakness in the arms or hands.
Most patients notice significant improvement within 8–12 sessions. Long-standing or more severe cervical spondylosis typically requires 15–20 sessions with a progressive home exercise programme. Your physiotherapist will give you a personalised timeline after your first assessment.
While age-related disc changes cannot be prevented entirely, the rate of degeneration can be slowed significantly with good ergonomics, regular movement breaks, neck strengthening exercises, and early physiotherapy for any developing symptoms.
Yes — cervical radiculopathy (nerve root compression) causing arm pain, tingling, and weakness is one of the most common conditions we treat. We use neural mobilisation, cervical traction, manual therapy, and targeted exercises to relieve nerve pressure and restore arm sensation and strength.
